Diane was born and raised in the Grand Rapids area. She received her BA and teacher certification from Grand Valley State University. Diane began her graduate studies at Michigan State University, and completed her MS degree in Education at Southwest Baptist University. Having taught in both Michigan and Missouri, her fifteen years of experience include teaching grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7. This is her first year teaching at St. Thomas Aquinas.
Diane has been married to her husband, Dana, for 22 years. They have four children. Claudia is a freshman at Lansing Catholic High School. Noel, Owen and Allison all attend St. Thomas Aquinas Parish School. The Spences live in East Lansing and are members of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. They enjoy swimming, attending sports events, travel, and anything else they can do as a family.
